Well one of the rats was ~triggering~ so he coughed up a bunch of trauma petals and then dipped after clinging to Sidon and crying for help, which is probably one of the most confusing things he's ever done in this graveyard. GOOD WORK TEAM.
Whenever Sidon leaves the... rat chaos... he can find Luke tucked away somewhere, breathing shakily and uselessly wiping at his eyes, countless petals on the floor around him.]
[Checks notes... they are midnight, plum, and flame!!!
Not that Sidon really needs the help of them, because Luke is so clearly miserable right now. He doesn't even resist as Sidon grabs his shoulders, most of his attention far away.]
Never gonna make it back... never gonna see her again...
[ oh buddy, this is a bad cocktail of colors. it really isn't necessary, with how... strange he's being. a lot of people would hide behind sidon in the midst of a little mayhem, but luke being so passive is unsettling. ]
I miss when you were arresting Viktor instead.
[ a joke. he smiles, even, an attempt to keep his own emotions from adding to the mix. ] ...You know that's not true. Nothing could keep you apart.
[LOOK... sometimes your CYOA effect is silly and wild, and sometimes it's just Yourself but dialed up to a bazillion.
Any other time, and Luke would probably be able to latch onto the joke--to steer them back towards normalcy, donning humor and friendliness as armor. Right now, it doesn't seem to register; he just shakes his head, morose.]
We'll be stuck... and we'll have to join the rat society...
[ not all the inner sadness becoming outer sadness. he offers him a hug, even if it probably won't do much at this point. he doesn't know if his mind is consolable at this point, but what can he do besides try?
he laughs softly at rat society. they're the rats... ]
That's not true. We're already finding ways back. You were such a big part of that, Luke! We're right on the cusp of a grand return.
