I don't think it's likely we'll gain additional space, but I've requisitioned an additional bunk bed. In the meantime, I was hoping these would be helpful.
[have two pillows!]
x2 Hypnos' Sleep-Eez Pillows Pillows shaped like the butt of everyone's jokes, Uranus. They are plush, blue, and round. They bear the unobtrusive scent of a very soft, pleasant flower. The moment your head hits this pillow when you're ready for bed, you will have the most restorative sleep of your life, imbuing you with all the pep in your step that you need to tackle the day. Best used after a hard day of work or when suffering anxiety or fatigue! Each pillow contains three uses after which they will lose their scent and restorative properties, but not their softness.
Ouch - you already feel as though you're pretty sore.
[Oh!! Luke looks surprised--a touch embarrassed, even, as he takes them.]
Thanks, Margaret. That's really thoughtful. [He grimaces, looking a little sheepish.] I guess I can't tell you to keep them for yourself, huh. [Was he going to do that. Maybe.] It's nothing serious. I've just got an old injury from the front lines, and I underestimated how much sleeping in a weird position would aggravate it. Working out this morning was probably a bad idea.
That's actually what I was trying to figure out. I'm not thrilled at the idea of asking the senior crew for painkillers when I can't test them to check their ingredients myself, but I might ask for some, just in case. This kit is pretty basic.
A very long time. Hundreds of cycles. But the empire that came before that was worse. I don't know if it's possible to build a system that could hold farflung parts of the galaxy together without it being brutal and corrupt, so maybe the lawlessness is better.
...I guess that's true. That it would be hard to stay united, I mean. [Not the lawlessness he doesn't agree with that--but he gets her point.] It's hard enough with one planet, and that's the only one with people on it, where I'm from. That we've found so far, anyway.
[They could get into the statistics of sentient alien life forms but that's a whole different thing]

Ugh. I get mad every time I think about it.

[like microplastics.]
Everyone is always implanting nanites into you to track you; you'll just have to get used to it. Or learn how to disable the tracking.
