Luke has mostly kept his distance from Sora since her arrival, doing his best to maintain neutral professionalism despite the strength of his personal biases. Fortunately, he's able to be polite; he nods at her approach, turning back to examine the Applebees.]
I've never seen a place like this before, have you?
[Truthfully Sora understood that quite well and after her trial was over she decided to put her own distance for several days, deciding to give time for everything to cool off. She may be tremendously bad with emotional intelligence but she's not so inept at it she can't understand the average person would frown upon being near someone who did the things she did]
Oh, it's familiar enough for me. This is what's called 'Applebees'. It's a very famous franchise, spreading all over the world and offering their food of...apparently bad quality?
[She tilts her head a little]
As far as I know, the point of this place is that you drink ten margaritas, and then get into a brawl with another customer until you're thrown out by disgruntled employees.
[Glaringly obvious she had never stepped into an Applebees before and she's basing this on what she has gathered from osmosis:
[Hah, yeah, it's very unlikely Sora is ignorant about chains of restaurants and how they work, but turns out there are no Applebees in Japan, at all, so no chance she'd have seen an Applebee's before. I had a chance to go for shenanigans so I took it]
That rowdiness might be why it's popular. Isn't looking for trouble something many like to do for fun, after all?
Well, you're not wrong there. Fortunately, I don't think many of us are big drinkers, so it should be alright. [No, they will have a wild party there literally tomorrow]
[It must be so rare to see someone be so alright after a CYOA, really. Sora knows that as well. That's why, while she's setting a whole bunch of Eunhyuk magnets on the fridge just to pass a bit of time, she sighs]
So we got through a mission...with some stuff, it seems
[It definitely is, which is why he's doing rounds to check on people, just to make sure they truly are doing fine. By the time he detaches from Margaret, any wounds would've healed up anyway, but still--it's in his nature.
But nothing prepares him for this, and he just stares at it for a minute, completely unsure of how to respond.]
That's... uh, probably for the best. [HE'LL JUST. PUT THIS IN HIS POCKET?? He'll probably throw it away later. Or maybe tomorrow Anise will be dead and he'll smoke it himself to ease the pain? Who's to say.]
[Hello Sora! Luke is here--NOT at Applebee's, instead they can be in the lovely botanical gardens, because why not. He nods at her in greeting; he's probably just drinking a coffee or something.]
It's like the others were saying earlier, I think... it's natural to want proof before you condemn someone. Bradley was fine, but there's no guarantee that the next person will be.
[Hello Sora!! They are at the inn, which is one of the least cursed locations this week (but still cursed). Luke's used to the rats by now, so he doesn't even blink at them, instead looking curiously at some of these overeager vines.]
Do you think these have anything to do with the plants we've been talking about? [They do not, but he doesn't know that]
Sora is bleeding too, wiping it from her face. Is it even real blood? Probably not, but she undoubtedly suffers the same effects as everyone else regardless]
So this is what they mean, about something's real form being bad for your mind. I didn't truly understand it until now.
[Which is funny because the god of the Otherworld and the entity all Daemons, including herself, draw power from is a literal Lovecraft god. She just doesn't know that]

That sounds more like a bar than a restaurant.

Week 5 -- After CYOA
So we got through a mission...with some stuff, it seems
Do you want to take this off my hands?
[Sora offers Luke a goddamn hand-rolled joint]

But nothing prepares him for this, and he just stares at it for a minute, completely unsure of how to respond.]
You--got this from your mission? [????????]
no subject
[And the three CYOA goers got them as reward, too]
I know what it is, obviously. But I'm not sure I should have it.
[Can a Daemon smoke the weed? Should a Daemon smoke the weed?]

But you're really okay?

[Less limb mangling, more...having to stay in that place for months or years on end, were they to fail]
Our goal was escaping from what's pretty much a prison academy. We'd be likelier to be brainwashed than hurt.
[That bit is her guess. It's plausible, though!]

Week 5, Saturday
They did alright this week.

It had been a while since a trial ended without making the majority want to shout at them all at length.
[It’s a miracle!]
no subject
Mm, it has. [A sigh.] But I wish they understood that pushing for a confession isn't useful.

[It’s kind of puzzling for her, really. Just plain stubbornness from them all, is it?]

Do you think these have anything to do with the plants we've been talking about? [They do not, but he doesn't know that]

[Sora tilts her head, examining the vines. Since she has gloves, she reaches for one, giving it a tug]
There's no pink haze nor flowers anywhere...I suppose those scientists we have could examine them better, but I'd say no?
[But it'd be good to take it to them, just in case. Sora tugs at the vines to try to rip them off]
no subject
[Their samples...
Sora tugs at the vines, and with a 14, she can partially succeed--but the rest of it starts to wrap around her hand!]
no subject
I should have seen this coming, shouldn't I?
[She watches the vine wrap around her hand, and she pulls, and since I rolled a 2 she had absolutely no success at tugging her hand free. Whooops.
why are dice so unkind to sora except during her cyoa]

Hold still, I'll get it-- [Except I rolled a 9 so no he won't]

Neither did I. [...] If this happens when we try to fight it, we'll need to figure out how to target it without visuals.
